PUMP PLACEMENT OF READY-MIX CONCRETE

1) Concrete shall be placed by filling the cross-section to ensure homogeneity and prevent the formation of unwanted cold joints. If the formwork is not properly constructed, this process may cause columns to blow out.

2) For column and shear wall concrete, the pump end hose shall be inserted as far as possible inside the formwork. For shear wall concrete, the concrete must not be allowed to strike the formwork face.

The velocity of the concrete must be reduced to prevent segregation and formwork deformation.

3) For slab concrete, the cross-section shall be filled and screeded as work progresses.

4) If the erected formwork is not considered reliable, the columns should first be cast in stages in a diagonal/alternating pattern, and then the deck slab should be cast diagonally.

  1. Care shall be taken to ensure that workers holding the pump and hose do not stand under the boom.

6) The maximum pour height of concrete is 170 cm and the maximum horizontal pour distance is 150 cm.

7) The concrete shall be placed, compacted, and screeded within approximately 3 hours from the time of production.
