Extra G and Q Loads Appearing in the Calculation Report Even Though They Were Not Defined on Walls or Beam Bond Beams

In some cases, extra G and Q loads may appear in calculation reports even though no extra G and Q loads were entered on walls or beam bond beams. The reason for this is:

When a vertical bond beam exists on the upper storey but does not continue on the lower storey, the loads from the vertical bond beam are transferred to the beam bond beams or walls on the lower storey.

Since it is not a normal situation for a vertical bond beam to exist on the upper storey without continuing on the lower storey, a separate column has not been created in the wall load and beam bond beam load tables under the heading "loads coming from upper-storey vertical bond beams." Instead, the vertical bond beam loads are shown in the calculation reports as extra G and extra Q loading.

The program is capable of transferring the loads of vertical bond beams that do not continue to the lower storey (provided there is a wall or beam bond beam at the lower storey level) to the lower storey. This transfer is displayed under the Extra G and Extra Q columns. Related images are presented below.
