Obtaining RYTEIE-2019 Parameters

1- Seismic coefficients SS and S1 are taken as described at https://www.staticad.com/destek/knowledgebase.php?article=40.

2- Since the R (Structural System Behavior) coefficient and D (Strength Redundancy) coefficient are not used in the risky building analysis, the values entered in the relevant fields do not matter.

3- The storey number used as the basis for examination is the storey number counted from the bottom of the building. With the foundation storey numbered as zero, in a building consisting of subbasement, basement, ground floor, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th storeys, if the storey to be examined is the ground floor, the value to enter is 3. It would have been 2 if there were no subbasement. It would have been 1 if there were no basement either.

4- The number of storeys excluding the basement is the storey count excluding any basement storey(s) completely buried in soil. In the example in item 3, if the subbasement and basement storey are completely buried in soil, the value is 5; if the basement is not completely buried in soil, the value to enter is 6.

5- The local site class is entered using the value obtained from a geotechnical site investigation, from adjacent parcels, or from a site report for another parcel with the same soil characteristics. Since the building period is compared with the site periods, the site investigation report has a significant effect on the building behavior.

6- On the Materials tab, the option "Calculate with RBTE formula" is selected.

7- If the building is a mixed structure, the option "Consider vertical bond beam stiffnesses" is checked. The option "Consider the contribution of vertical bond beam stiffnesses to wall resistance" is NOT checked. (Even if it is checked, the program disregards it in the risky building analysis.)
