Structure-Foundation Interaction Analysis

The following points should be observed when performing structure-foundation interaction analysis.

Foundation beams must be defined on the same axis as the walls and columns of the lower storey.

In ribbed raft foundation analysis, raft foundations must share the same axis as the walls and columns of the lower storey.

In flat raft foundation analysis (without beams), modelling must be carried out using the quadrilateral or rectangular slab option that can generate an irregular triangular mesh during analysis, so that the raft foundations can be subdivided at the nodes of the vertical load-bearing elements above them. Since a mesh structure is generated when polygon and curved slabs are created, these types must not be used for flat raft foundations.
