StatiCAD with ChatGPT (Codex) and Google (Antigravity)

1. About this article

Instead of Claude Code, you can also operate StatiCAD with OpenAI's Codex app (with your ChatGPT account) or with Google's Antigravity tool. The working logic is the same: the agent reads the help files, sends commands to StatiCAD through the terminal channel and uses the screen when needed.

The common steps (working folder, opening StatiCAD with --term, permissions, first prompt) are described in detail in the Claude Code article; only the differences are covered here. First do the Step 4 and Step 5 sections of that article.

2. With ChatGPT: Codex

Codex is OpenAI's AI agent that runs on your computer. You sign in with your ChatGPT account; no separate API key is needed.

2.1. Account and plan

1. Open an account at chatgpt.com or sign in with your existing ChatGPT account.
2. Codex can be used with limits on the free plan; for regular work, Plus (about USD 20 per month) is recommended. Current plans: openai.com/chatgpt/pricing.

2.2. Installation

1. On Windows, open the Microsoft Store, search for the Codex app (publisher: OpenAI) and install it. If you cannot use the Store, use the download link on the openai.com/codex page.
2. Open the app and sign in with Sign in with ChatGPT.
3. Choose C:\StatiCAD\AI_Projeler as the working folder.

AGENTS.md: Codex reads the AGENTS.md file in the working folder automatically. When you use a separate working folder, the prompt below tells it to read the file from the program folder; if you choose the program folder (Ultimate), it reads the file anyway.

2.3. Permission mode

Codex runs commands in a protected area (sandbox): by default, it does not write outside the working folder and it asks for approval for unusual operations. It may ask for approval when it starts StatiCAD and when it connects to the terminal channel (\\.\pipe\piletisim.term); read the request and allow it.

Full access: If Codex cannot connect to StatiCAD, you may need to loosen the permission setting by one level. Full access removes the protections completely; use it only if you know what you are doing, and only for a short time.

2.4. First prompt

Use the same prompt as with Claude Code:

Read the AGENTS.md and YARDIM_AI_KOMUTLAR.md files in the C:\StatiCAD\Ultimatex64 folder. I want you to create my projects by using the program (StatiCAD.exe) through the terminal and, when needed, with computer use.

For Hybrid:

Read the YARDIM_AI_KOMUTLAR.md and AI_Terminal_yardim.md files in the C:\StatiCAD\Hybrid folder (this edition has no AGENTS.md). I want you to create my projects by using the program (StatiCAD.exe) through the terminal and, when needed, with computer use.

After reading the files and testing the connection, Codex asks you what you want to do. Describe your project with its dimensions, as in the Claude Code article.

2.5. Computer use (Codex)

Codex can also use the computer through the screen on Windows. Turn the feature on in the settings of the Codex app. On Windows, Codex works in the foreground while it uses the screen: do not use the mouse and keyboard during that time. This feature is not available in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland; it can be used in Türkiye. Details: Computer use article.

3. With Google: Antigravity

Gemini CLI no longer works with personal accounts: Google has closed Gemini CLI to free, Google AI Pro and Google AI Ultra personal accounts; it has been replaced by the Antigravity CLI (command name agy). If older documents or the User Guide mention Gemini CLI, use Antigravity. Gemini CLI continues to work only with paid API keys and enterprise accounts.

3.1. Installation

1. Open PowerShell from the Start menu and run this command:

   irm https://antigravity.google/cli/install.ps1 | iex

2. Close PowerShell, open it again and check the installation:

   agy --version

3. Windows Defender may examine the file for a few minutes at the first start; if you see a warning, wait and try again.

3.2. First session

1. Go to the working folder and start Antigravity:

   cd C:\StatiCAD\AI_Projeler
   agy

2. At the first start, sign in with your Google account in the browser.

3. Write the first prompt:

   Read the AGENTS.md and YARDIM_AI_KOMUTLAR.md files in the C:\StatiCAD\Ultimatex64 folder. I want you to create my projects by using the program (StatiCAD.exe) through the terminal and, when needed, with computer use.

Plans and limits: Antigravity can be used with a Google account; the daily usage limit varies with the account type (Google AI Pro about USD 20 per month). Current information: antigravity.google. Google's Antigravity desktop app can also do the same work; this article describes the command-line version.

3.3. Limitations

• Antigravity's support for using Windows desktop programs through the screen (computer use) is not documented. For work that needs the screen, use Claude or Codex.
• Whether it reads AGENTS.md automatically depends on the version; tell it explicitly in the prompt to read the files (the prompt above does this).

5. Troubleshooting

Problems with the connection, the hardware key and permissions are the same for all three agents: see the Claude Code troubleshooting table. In addition:

Symptom	Cause and solution
Codex cannot connect to StatiCAD	The sandbox may not be allowing it: allow the approval request or loosen the permission mode by one level.
agy command not found	Close PowerShell and open it again. If the problem persists, run the installation command again.
Gemini CLI says “account not supported”	Gemini CLI has been closed for personal accounts; install Antigravity.

The plan, price and menu names of Anthropic, OpenAI and Google services may change over time; for up-to-date information, see the linked official pages. The model built and the results produced by the AI must be checked by the responsible engineer.
