The software performs analysis considering the conditions prescribed by the 2018 Earthquake Code for reinforced concrete buildings. Seismic forces can be calculated using equivalent lateral force, modal analysis, modal solution with finite element matrices, rigid or flexible diaphragm and without-diaphragm approaches based on user preference. Solutions for structures with rigid basements can also be generated.
Shell or frame finite element models can be used for shear walls. For slabs, load transfer to beams can be performed with shell elements or the classical method; slab internal forces can be read from both finite element results and approximate methods. For foundations, strip footing, beam-supported raft and flat raft solutions are available; soil-structure interaction is taken into account.
Polygon columns can be analyzed with biaxial iterative analysis or uniaxial alternative solution methods. If desired, the building model is exported to SAP2000, analyzed and the results are interpreted back in StatiCAD, converted into summary reports and reinforcement drawings. Thus the software provides not only calculations but also a complete office workflow for reporting and sheet production.
The software automatically applies the formulas required for masonry buildings within the framework of TBDY 2018 and the associated risky building approach. It brings the details of masonry analysis that are difficult to manage manually into a more realistic workflow with options such as equivalent frame model, frame finite element, modal analysis, shell element load transfer and confined masonry.
The software provides significant advantages in areas such as reinforced masonry wall analysis, wall checks considering moment effects, and accounting for the contribution of vertical bond beams to wall strength and system stiffness. Because load transfer can be performed without requiring inter-story axis dependency, modeling complex masonry projects becomes more flexible.
The biggest difference compared to Excel spreadsheets is the distribution of vertical loads to walls based on geometry. This produces more reliable results, especially for walls whose shear capacity depends on the load level. The software can use finite element or classical approaches in its internal calculations; code-specified checks are reported automatically.
The software can perform timber building calculations in accordance with the 2018 earthquake code and the Timber Building Design, Calculation and Construction Principles (ABTHYE) dated 24.03.2024. Light-frame wall systems, floor joists, horizontal intermediate bands, independent beams and columns can be defined along with wind and snow loads.
During analysis, numerous load combinations are automatically generated; seismic forces and internal forces are calculated automatically. For timber shear wall elements, shear capacity checks are performed, and members are verified for tension, bending, lateral buckling, compression, shear, rolling shear, torsion and combined effects according to code principles.
Timber elements can be defined not only within timber systems but also alongside masonry or reinforced concrete systems. This approach makes timber design suitable for Turkish conditions more accessible, while also supporting beam cross-section and deflection checks per TS647 principles.
In the relevant upper versions of the software, masonry building retrofitting calculations and drawings can be performed using methods such as welded wire mesh and shotcrete, fiber reinforced polymer wrapping or adding new vertical bond beams, shear walls and walls. No additional software is required for this process.
If desired, more advanced tools such as SAP2000 automation with shell elements, finite element analysis and response spectrum analysis can also be activated. The project can be exported to SAP2000, analysis results retrieved and interpreted within StatiCAD, converting them into a complete report set.
This topic particularly enables existing building assessment, risky building analysis and retrofitting alternatives to be reviewed within the same project logic. The software automatically performs the masonry performance and retrofitting checks specified in the code, reducing decision time.
Existing reinforced concrete buildings are assessed to TBDY 2018 Chapter 15. The program calculates demand/capacity ratios and damage regions by the linear method; for deformation-based assessment it performs nonlinear pushover analysis with Annex 5A material models, moment–curvature relationships from the fiber model and an event-to-event solver. The seismic demand is found according to Annex 5B; a damage region is determined for every column, beam and shear wall, and the building performance level is reported with its rationale according to 15.8.
For buildings that do not meet the single-mode pushover conditions, multi-mode pushover (TBDY 5.6.6) and IRSA methods can be used. Results can be compared automatically with SAP2000; plastic hinges are followed step by step in the 3D view with damage colors.
If the building proves inadequate, retrofitting is defined in the same project: FRP wrapping, concrete jacketing, RC jacketing and steel jacketing of columns; FRP wrapping and external stirrups for beams; new RC shear walls and infill wall retrofitting (Annex 15B, Annex 15C). With a single option, the retrofitted building is reassessed, and the before–after comparison is placed on the first page of the report. Details: performance analysis and retrofitting pages.
In precast industrial buildings, roof beams are defined as single nonprismatic members, and precast beams with Precast I, T, U, box and trapezoid templates. Pinned beam ends are assigned with a single command; the shear stiffness of roofs covered with trapezoidal sheeting or sandwich panels can be modeled with TBDY Annex 8B equivalent braces.
Overhead crane loads are calculated from wheel reactions and written to the columns, façade panel and crane masses are added as seismic mass only, and in buildings with intermediate floors, different R and D (TBDY 4.3.6) are applied to the upper and lower parts. Pinned, moment-resisting, purlin and gutter beam connections are designed and reported to TBDY Chapter 8 using the forces from the analysis. Details: precast structure software.
Sections and steel grades are assigned to steel beams and columns from the built-in section library; members are checked according to the LRFD approach of ÇYTHYE for bending and lateral–torsional buckling, shear, axial compression buckling, combined effects and deflection. Steel members can be used in the same model as reinforced concrete, masonry and timber elements.
In cold-formed steel buildings, panel sheathing shear capacity, stud buckling and wind checks by the effective width method, beams and columns with C, Z, U, C+, Sigma and Sigma+ sections, panel anchors and foundations are designed to TBDY 2018 Chapter 10 and HCBTİE. Details: steel and cold-formed steel pages.
Triangular and quadrilateral slabs or raft foundations with curved or circular edges can be defined. Domes, vaults, elliptical domes, helical stairs, Turkish triangles, circular slabs, curved slabs and general 3D curved surface forms can be handled within the same modeling logic.
The software creates nodes at corners and edge midpoints from quadrilateral slab data, providing curvature control. Surfaces can be divided into triangular or quadrilateral shell elements as chosen. After analysis, displacements, internal forces and stresses can be examined in 2D/3D environments with colored contour views.
Load transfer from curved slabs to other structural elements is performed automatically; the structure can be solved with rigid or flexible diaphragm assumptions. This capability significantly expands the software's coverage area for historic/traditional structures or unconventional geometries.
