staticad-site-theme and staticad-cookie-consent are stored in your browser's localStorage. They are used to remember your light/dark theme preference and your cookie consent decision; they are kept locally on your device and are not sent to the server. Because they are required for the site's core functionality, they do not require consent.
The StatiCAD AI chat window on all pages of our website and in the Knowledge Base is an artificial intelligence assistant that answers your questions based on our knowledge base articles; you can hand the chat over to our support team at any time. The messages you write are sent to our AI service provider Anthropic to generate replies and are processed in the United States. We recommend that you do not share confidential or sensitive personal information in the chat.
Chat records (the messages; the page where the chat started, language, country and browser information; a one-way code derived from your IP address — the IP address itself is not stored) are kept on Cloudflare's infrastructure in Europe to provide the support service and prevent abuse, and are deleted automatically after 90 days. Entering your name, email, phone and company in the pre-chat form is optional; any details you provide are kept with the chat record so that we can get back to you. If you ask to speak to a representative, the chat transcript is sent to our support team by email.
The chat window is available to all visitors. So that your chat can continue across pages, the two entries above are kept in your browser's localStorage only if you select "Accept" in the cookie banner; otherwise the chat restarts when you change pages. On Knowledge Base pages, no chat information is stored in your browser.
To protect the chat against automated abuse we use Cloudflare Turnstile: when you send your first message, an invisible security check runs that requires no action from you. Fonts (Nunito) are hosted on our own server; no data is sent to Google Fonts. Google Analytics, advertising pixels, and any other tracking tools are NOT USED on our site.
When you first visit our site, you can choose "Accept" or "Reject" via the banner that appears. To change your decision later, clear the data (localStorage/cookies) your browser has stored for this site; the banner will reappear.
You can also view, delete, or block cookies from your browser's settings.
